Simon Spalding, former CEO of Fremantle Media Group, has been appointed by Yummi Media Group to spearhead their international expansion.

The new role will see Spalding roll out Yummi’s new game format proposition, which establishes audiences as real contributors to on screen action by interacting with a mobile app while the show is being broadcast.

This is made possible by Yummi’s in-house technology platform which integrates mobile, social gaming and live broadcast events.

Michael Leggo, Chief Creative Officer at Yummi Media Group, said: "We are delighted to welcome Simon Spalding to Yummi. Simon has a wealth of experience in rolling out entertainment propositions globally and the perfect industry pedigree to facilitate international success for Yummi's unique format creations. His appointment signals a dynamic new phase for a company whose first new format provides an exciting new slant to the TV game genre."

Simon Spalding, CEO, Yummi Media Group, added: "This is a hugely exciting challenge that I am thoroughly looking forward to embracing. Yummi's creative and technology skills give us unique placing in the market to deliver original, integrated and compelling entertainment experiences through our game formats."

During his tenure at Fremantle Spalding worked on a range of TV franchises including Idol, The Price is Right and Baywatch.
