Pinterest overtakes Google+, Linkedin, Tagged and MySpace to become third most popular social network in US

Social networking website Pinterest has become the third most popular social network in the United States, behind Facebook and Twitter.

The site was found to have received 104, 414,903 unique visits in March alone, according to analytics company Experian Marketing Services, with a 50% jump in traffic alone between January and February of this year.

In comparison, the most popular social network site, Facebook, received 7,012,967,944 unique visits, while Twitter has 182,185,057 unique visits.

The site has jumped ahead of more established sites such as Linkedin (85,733,439), Tagged (72,464,356), Google+ (61,041,990) and MySpace (43,253,148) despite only having been launched in 2010.

The report however, does not include mobile traffic statistics Experian has admitted.
