Irn-Bru has today launched its latest ad campaign with the new slogan: 'Irn-Bru gets you through'.
The brand's famous slogans down the years have included 'Scotland's Other National Drink', 'The Soft Drink for Hard Men', 'Made in Scotland from Girders' and most recently, 'Phenomenal'.
Its latest campaign, once again created by The Leith Agency in Edinburgh, "celebrates Scots' ability to bounce back from tough situations".
Three new 30-second TV ads have been created for the £2.5m campaign's three-month run on Scottish television.
'Steamy Windows' shows how an Irn-Bru drinker handles walking in on his parents getting amorous while 'Pink Bomb' shows a lad's pad transformed into a girly hellhole. The third spot will be revealed later in the campaign.
Irn-Bru's head of marketing, Adrian Troy, said: "Scots are well known for dealing with life's ups and downs in a down to earth way and by retaining a sense of humour.
"It's that spirit and attitude which has inspired our new campaign which is all about offering some light relief and showing how Irn-Bru gets you through."

So the "The Soft Drink for Hard Men" slogan has been reversed - "The Hard Drink for Soft Men" - I just hope they tested the possible outcome of this campaign as it suggests that people who drink Irn-Bru are a soft push-over. Maybe the advertising campaign to children could feature "Walter the Softee" smiling and drinking Irn-Bru whilst taking a beating from "Dennis the Menace"?
