CBS Outdoor is understood to be making an investment of around £500,000 to upgrade the quality of national rail sites across the UK.

In order to lower its carbon footprint and deliver higher definition images, the company has implemented Prismaflex UK’s Storm-Flex dry posting system.

The system, developed by Urban Storm, will run across 230 prime national rail sites, offering improved visibility and quality to ensure that posters don’t crease.

Jason Cotterrell, country director at CBS Outdoor UK, commented: “We are determined that our national rail sites offer advertisers the highest quality visual display and most rapid turnaround available in the market, alongside our commitment to produce the lowest possible carbon emissions in the manufacturing process and the safest possible circumstances for our installers.

“Our partnership with Prismaflex is a key part of our drive to be not just the best and the biggest in the transport sector but also the safest,” he added.

Sam Cook, CEO of Prismaflex UK, said: “This is a significant advance in the move away from paper and paste being made by outdoor companies and CBS Outdoor UK is leading the way in upgrading quality and convenience in the sector.

“Crucially it also offers advertisers and media agencies a fast, reliable HD quality product that can deliver best-in-class results in a highly competitive part of the media market.”

Prismaflex declined to comment on the value of the investment but speculation suggests that a deal of this nature would be worth in the order of £500k.
