Manchester City FC receives over 2,600 bids for its first online auction prize through City Auctions

The first prize won through Manchester City Football Club's new auctions website saw over 2,600 bids recieved, the club has said.

City Auctions will be open to all club members over the age of 18, allowing members to bid for a range of prizes using online credits, including flights with the first team squad,

The first auction to be won was for a flight to Lisbon for last night’s Europa League tie against Sporting Lisbon, which saw over 2,600 bids made within hours of its announcement.

Ian Cafferky, chief brand & commercial officer for Manchester City, said: “We hope our fans enjoy the site and have some fun with it. Our research told us that supporters wanted to get closer to the club and this is another way of saying thank you to them for their terrific support.”
