Yorkshire Building Society has unveiled Flash and rich media banners, created by Digital Consortium, to promote its move into the buy-to-let market through intermediary lending subsidiary Accord Mortgages.
Featuring an animated 3D rocket, the banners appear on the Mortgage Strategy, Mortgage Solutions and Mortgage Introducer websites.
Visitors to the Mortgage Strategy website will view a rich media version of the banners on their first visit, which shows the rocket animation flying around the screen. On subsequent visits the Flash version appears, and this can also be found on the Mortgage Solutions and Mortgage Introducer sites.
Liz Robinson, client services director at Digital Consortium, said: “Designing and building the banners as rich media and Flash versions enabled us to introduce movement and a hint of humour to the campaign. We knew that this would achieve a greater level of impact in what can be a quite static market from an online marketing perspective.
“We also recommended creating rich media and Flash versions of the banners to ensure the rocket did not become an irritation for brokers returning to these sites regularly. Having it fly around the screen adds excitement and grabs attention, but if this happens every time someone visits a site it would quickly lose its appeal.”
