Rangers aren't tickled pink by Ashley Madison sponsorship offer

Ashley Madison, the world’s largest dating site for married people, has announced it has made an audacious bid to rescue Rangers from the financial mire.

This would take the form of a five year £4.4m stadium sponsorship package in which Rangers iconic blue stands would be daubed pink.

A further £2.3m is on the table - if Ibrox’s finest were prepared to don pink ‘Ashley Madison’ emblazoned shirts.

In a letter to the clubs administrators (seen by The Drum) Biderman writes: “Sport runs through my veins and I am passionate about ensuring the future of this globally-renowned football club.

“We would like to enter into a discussion regarding our support for Rangers Football Club and would like you to consider our role in its future success. Like many other global brands we feel a mutually-beneficial partnership can be forged to create opportunities for both sides.

“Sportsmen are famous for their cheating ways and we feel linking our dating site with this impressive club’s performance historically and tying in to its future will create a powerful partnership.”

Administrators Duff & Phelps are yet to respond to the offer.

Lucre PR are advising Ashley Madison on the bid.

Blatantly a PR stunt by the AM PR/Marketing team... And a fantastic one at that, unless they get a lot of business out of Scotland, in that case, then their screwed!

Mmmm. Ashley Madison have just angered 240,000 Rangers fans; that will help your business. Rangers biggest rivals have a management team famous for infidelity http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2011/05/29/heartbroken-w... http://www.soccer24-7.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-137089.html But perhaps its celtics support of terrorism http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/culture/jmacmillan/100046348/celtic-fans-ne... Or their hiding of peadophilia http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/aberdeen/celtic-boys-club-founde... that put off Ashley Madison from sponsoring the infamous glasgow celtic. :)

@tallv18463 I'll bet they're shitting themselves. Dude, your club's going down the pan and you're still obsessed wih Celtic. Let it go.

I can almost feel your pain! It oozes out of your sad, straw-clutching comment that holds as much dignity as a 100 year old bigoted signing policy. As Rangers go to the wall, with no one stepping in to help (not even their own 'loyal' fans!), you sit here posting rot about Celtic! Says it all.

Like all Ashley Madison PR, this story is completely bogus. Th company has no intention of buying Rangers and as ever is just seeking publicity (aided and abetted by a naive media who slavishly lap up this rubbish). AM's press stories are as fake as the messages the company sends out from non-existent females to entice suckers (like me!) into subscribing with them. UK adulterers are advised to steer clear of these shysters and sign up to a UK site like Undercover Lovers or Illicit Encounters.

@rogerthedodger yeah, and you certainly don't have an agenda
