Bacardi has created three short films to celebrate its 150-year anniversary.

The films use a live freeze-frame technique as they tell the story of the rum brand's history - from how it enticed Americans to Cuba during prohibition to how its bat logo evolved.

They were produced by Johannes Leonardo in collaboration with Partizan, and AB/CD/CD.

Frank Mertens, Bacardi's global content and communications director, said: "The challenge we face is to tell our stories without giving a history lesson.

"For that reason, we chose a concept that brings to life our stories in a way that is true to our personality and captures the spirit of the legendary parties we’ve been hosting for decades."

The films will run on Bacardi's Facebook page and YouTube channels.
