Hearst Magazines UK has announced that they have appointed Lee Wilkinson to act as a product director for their digital division.

The newly created role will see Wilkinson work with the publishers existing digital strategy director, Rebecca Miskin, and Digital Spy founder, James Welsh, to define and deliver Hearst’s digital strategy.

Recently the firm, which publishes 21 magazine websites, relaunched the portals for Elle, Netdoctor pureplays handbag, All About You, Sugarscape and Cosmopolitan.

In addition the firm has also developed a number of products; notably the Genie Shopping app to celebrate Cosmopolitan’s 40th anniversary and two mobile sites for Company and Men’s Health.

Hearst Magazines UK Digital Strategy Director, Rebecca Miskin, says: "Lee's appointment is a pivotal and transformational moment for the Hearst business. Hearst UK's digital offering combines curated-content, user-generated content, tools and transactions and Lee is a product-led, audience focused, commercial individual. He will be an invaluable member of the senior team and we're extremely excited to have him on board as we lead this digital transformation."
