Sustainability charity Forum for the Future has appointed Betsy Reed, former director of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum and most recently head of campaigns at Zero Waste Scotland, as its new head of communications and marketing.

Reed will drive the charity’s ambition to globalise the Forum brand and communicate its research so that its impacts can be scaled up to produce lasting change.

She said: “Communications is a crucial tool to get people and organisations working together to make the world a better place. Forum for the Future’s work as a change catalyst in the energy, finance and food systems inspires me. I look forward to communicating that message in ways that will mobilise organisations to think creatively about how they can work with us to meet the sustainability challenges of the future.”

Peter Madden, Forum’s chief executive, said: “To persuade people that a better future’s possible, we need to tell them the positive stories of how change is happening. Betsy is just the person to do that. She brings the passion and creativity we need to change hearts and minds.”
