Manchester design and advertising agency Stiff Rowlands has closed its doors with immediate effect.

Stiff Rowlands closes

The company's founders, Simon Rowlands and James Stiff, announced the closure in a blog post on their site today.

"We are incredibly proud of our achievements but now feel the time is right for a change," they wrote. "We have decided to start the next chapter and pursue other exciting creative opportunities that satisfy our individual ambitions."

They added: "We haven’t gone bust. We haven’t fallen out. We are not going to prison or rehab."

Rowlands and Stiff founded the agency late in 2007 and have gone on to produce work for the Rolling Stones, Manchester United and Umbro, among many others.

They could not be reached for comment this afternoon.
