The Market Creative hires Whitby to head up family division

Manchester agency The Market has appointed Jo Whitby, a former senior account director at McCann Erickson, to lead its new standalone business division serving brands that want to engage families.

Whitby joins The Market Family after two years at BCR, where she was a senior account director. Before that she spent 11 years at McCanns.

Sue Benson, The Market's managing director, said: "My vision has been to create a group of multi-audience and multi-service business units that can operate both collectively and independently.

"Our team has a wealth of expertise in the family market, having worked with a number of major brands from Cow & Gate and Lego to SSL children’s medicines, so a division devoted to this area was a natural choice for us."

The company's existing shopper marketing offering, The Market Creative, will continue to serve both retailers and brands.
