Technology group Ericsson has announced a raft of new products and partnerships at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, as it outlines its future growth strategy.

These include a deal with operator MTN to offer Ericsson’s converged wallet platform to consumers in the Middle East and Africa. This agreement was reflected with Western Union to develop turn-key mobile money services.

Ericsson has also announced that it is to launch a new application on the Smart Services Router in Australia, designed to lift capacity boundaries for 2G, 3G and 4G networks to slake a growing thirst for mobile broadband services.

President and CEO Hans Vestberg said: "The combination of leadership in mobile broadband, managed services and support solutions (OSS/BSS) gives us an unrivalled ability to support our customers in successfully monetizing the opportunities in a Networked Society."
