Electronics specialist Maplin is set to unveil its first TV ad for seven years on Saturday, to be broadcast in the London area only.

The ad was planned by newly appointed media agency, AdConnection, and created by Biscuit.

Catherine Becker, CEO at AdConnection, said: “We’re delighted to be working with such a prestigious brand as Maplin with such a heritage on the high street and online, and to take it to the next stage of growth with this TV campaign.”

The 10 and 30-second TV spots put a focus on customer service, and features a couple who like the Maplin sales advisors so much they want to take them home.

Chantel Clarke, marketing manager at Maplin: “Maplin haven’t featured on TV for 7 years so we are very excited about this new project.

“Maplin operate over 3 distribution channels, and our unique strength is our excellent customer service and product knowledge. Rather than feature our extensive range of 15,000 products, we wanted to leverage on our service excellence.”

The ad will be shown across ITV1, C4 and Five.
