Pepper spray equipped iPhone raises eyebrows

An iPhone complete with a bolted on pepper spray canister, for self defence, has raised eyebrows after being unveiled by a Swiss manufacturer.

Piexon’s SmartGuard comes with a hard plastic casing which prevents accidental discharge of the noxious substance whilst in the pocket whilst the canister itself can be readily detached to fend off any would be assailants.

Would be purchasers however should note that carrying pepper spray in the UK is an offence which could result in arrest.

SmartGuard is compatible with models from the iPhone3G upwards and retails for $34.99.
