An outdoor ad by Channel 5 for its programme on Tamara Ecclestone has been allowed by the ASA because while she appeared to be naked and was only covered by two magazines, there was no indecent exposure.

The ad had received three complaints suggesting it was offensive and could be seen by children.

Channel 5 had said the aim of the series was to show "the naked truth" behind all the media coverage that Ecclestone attracted and that was the conceptual basis for the ads, adding that the strapline "the Cover Girl - Uncovered" was clearly a journalistic metaphor and not a literal ambition.

The ASA noted that the ad did not draw undue attention to body parts in a sexual way and was unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence to the public in general or to cause harm to children.
