First Glasgow has asked consumers to tweet about why they think their partner is special as part of a Valentine’s Day promotion, with ‘Valentine Vinny’ to present one couple with a bouquet of red roses and a meal for two at a city centre restaurant.

Emma Latimer, public relations manager for First Glasgow said: “My inspiration for the Valentine’s Day promotion came from our Route 66 service which carries the ‘love the journey’ strapline. Encouraging our customers to tweet or email why they think their partner is great is a lovely way to brighten up their day during the daily commute and to spread a bit of good feeling by sharing the positive comments with others.

“Getting more involved with our customers through social marketing, such as surprising customers on board buses with single red roses, is a great way to spread goodwill amongst our customers and perhaps encourage non-bus users to travel by bus. We are always looking to improve the journey experience for our customers.”
