Heart Magazines group commercial director Salmon to join Channel 4 as head of agency sales

Matt Salmon, UK group commercial director for Heart Magazines, is to join Channel 4 as its second head of agency sales.

Salmon, who has held his current role at Heart Magazines since 2010, will be responsible for the relationships, output and revenue for half of the broadcaster’s agencies and clients and will report to sales director Jonathan Allan.

Allan said: "Matt is a clear leader and has managed a great deal of change at NatMag/Hearst, from which we will benefit greatly as we transform our approach towards agencies and clients. He also brings with him a different perspective on sales from the magazine sector and has many close client relationships, which will help us as we aim to get closer to them as a marketing partner."

Damon Lafford was also recently appointed as head of agency sales at Channel 4, while a head of digital and partnership innovation is also being sought. The role will see the successful applicant made responsible for driving sales innovation across multiple disciplines.
