Guardian News & Media has today launched a competition to find the young stars of the advertising and marketing world, with the winners to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The Cannes Young Lions competition is open to all advertising professionals working across four specialist sectors: print, cyber, marketing and media, aged up to 28 – 30 for marketing – who work in the UK.

To take part in the competition, young creatives need to contact the Guardian for a full brief, and will then be given a weekend to prepare their pitches for the expert judging panel.

Adam Freeman, executive director of Guardian News & Media, said: “We would urge all young people working in the advertising and communications industry to seize this opportunity and apply. It’s a once in a lifetime chance not to be missed.”

Philip Thomas, Cannes Lions CEO, added: “Taking part in the UK national young creative completion is a unique opportunity to showcase talent and earn the chance to represent the UK at Cannes Lions in June. The winning teams will enjoy the inspiration and learning experience that the largest global advertising and communications event offers, and which can be a launch-pad for careers.”
