Manchester City Football Club has signed a partnership deal with MLJ to develop its official Japanese mobile website.

The website will host daily news content and team photographs and will give City’s Japanese fans easy access to official merchandise, memorabilia and match-day tickets.

MLJ has exclusive rights to develop City's official Japanese mobile website for non-smartphone mobile devices until May 2013.

The deal comes as City looks to grow its digital offering and fanbase outside the UK. It is lining up similar arrangements in other major markets in Asia.

Ian Cafferky, chief brand and commercial officer at City, said: "This deal marks another chapter in the Club’s digital strategy to engage with our international fan base, bringing supporters as close as possible to the match-day experience, through greater interaction online and on mobile."
