Red Bull is to promote the stratospheric balloon flight and freefall jump of Felix Baumgartner with Rockpool Digital.

The agency has created the project’s website, social media strategy and interactive experiences.

The website was created to increase momentum, audience and brand awareness in the lead up to the event, which is taking place later this year, and will showcase build up activity, chart the history behind the project and feature information about the scientists and specialists leading the mission.

A live broadcast of the flight with a data overlay will also be shown on the site.

Designed to be entirely flash; HTML5 and mobile optimised, the site will translate across major tablets and also link to the Red Bull newsletter - RedBulletin.

Rockpool will regularly update the exclusive and shareable, behind-the-scenes content to ensure repeat visits and increase dwell times.

Peter Gandy, Rockpool chief commercial officer, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Red Bull on this exciting and ground breaking project. We’ve made the site interactive, social and mobile optimised so that people can keep up to date with the mission wherever they are and across multiple devices.

“Visitors will be able to engage with the project and share information in the run up to the jump, and then watch history being made via a live stream. We wish Felix and the team every success over the coming months.”

Yesterday it was announced that Red Bull is to launch a campaign in March to promote its partnership with Formula One and the Red Bull Racing Spy app.
