Global Radio and News International announce commercial partnership

Global Radio has signed a long-term partnership with News International which will see sponsorship campaigns, interactive promotions and special features running on Global stations and in News International titles.

Capital Breakfast will partner with The Sun in a move which will see the tabloid's branding feature across each of the nine breakfast shows in the Capital FM network, including the new London slot hosted by Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon.

The other partnerships are: Classic FM’s More Music Breakfast in partnership with The Times and The Sunday Times.

Heart’s Club Classics on Friday evenings with The Sun and Fabulous Magazine.

LBC 97.3 with special features, news round-ups and advertorials with The Times and The Sunday Times

Big Top 40 with special Sun advertorial features

This is the first time that either company has embarked on a media owner partnership of this scale.

It was devised and brokered by Fleur Stoppani and Tom Balaam at Mindshare and Donna McCallum at Global Radio and will be managed by media partnership specialist tpf - The Promotions Factory.

Mike Gordon, Global Radio's managing director (commercial), said: "This is the first time that Global Radio and News International have joined forces on such a scale to reinforce their respective positions as the largest commercial radio group and the leading newspaper publisher in the UK.”

Katie Vanneck-Smith, chief marketing officer at News International, described it as a "ground-breaking" agreement.

She said: "Their powerful portfolio of station brands represents a perfect fit for our titles and offers us the flexibility to communicate our range of marketing and content messages on a daily basis."
