Dr. Oetker to unveil new TV ad with BBDO Proximity

Dr. Oetker is to launch a new TV ad campaign, unveiling 9 February, developed by BBDO Proximity in Germany, with media buying carried out by MEC Manchester.

The ‘Decoration Duel’ ad, which will break during Coronation Street, shows a couple becoming competitive while baking and decorating cupcakes.

Gill Davies, marketing director Dr. Oetker Ambient, said: "The TV commercial engages and inspires all home bakers. It celebrates the fun and delight of creating and sharing delicious cakes with friends and family and encourages home bakers to make their baking even better with Dr. Oetker products.

“Our popularity is due the quality and breadth of our range plus the exciting NPD we bring to home bakers. The new TV campaign is part of our plans to invest heavily to drive growth in this buoyant category and is a clear call to action for home bakers to actively choose Dr. Oetker baking products to enjoy even better baking."

“This is the heaviest support campaign the category has seen in years and we will continue to invest heavily to communicate the benefits of our brand and products, inspire more baking sales and offer exciting, innovative products that meet home bakers needs and keep the market growing."

The ad will run for nine weeks, covering key periods of home baking, such as Pancake Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.
