Blunkett renews £49,500 contract to advise News International on ‘social responsibility’
Former home secretary David Blunkett has renewed a £49,500 contract to advise News International on ‘social responsibility’.
According to the Guardian, he is expected to work 14 or 15 days for News International, working out as about £3,300 a day.
A spokesperson for Blunkett confirmed the renewal of the contract for "corporate social responsibility (volunteering and education)" but did not provide any further details.
Last year Blunkett reached a settlement with News International, reported to be worth £300,000, over phone hacking.
