People flying over New York City? You've got to be joking! But here's how this stunt - described as "brilliant" by Adage - was set up.

The inspiration came from 20th Century Fox to promote its forthcoming film, "Chronicle." The movie is about three high school pupils who suddenly gain super powers.

So to convince skeptical New Yorkers that anything was possible, Fox called in Thinkmodo, the team behind other exploits like "The Shaving Helmet" and "iPad Head Girl" (see below).

And they they sent up custom-made aircraft shaped like people up into the sky, giving the effect that they were flying over the Brooklyn Bridge , the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
