Followers of Katie Price on Twitter had a shock yesterday when she began tweeting about possible ways to solve the Eurozone debt crisis – only to discover it was a PR stunt for Snickers.

The timing of the PR stunt coincides with the launch of Snickers new campaign featuring Joan Collins and Stephanie Beacham, which has been unveiled today.

Price’s account - @MissKatiePrice - tweeted messages such as ‘Great news about China’s latest GDP figures!!’ ‘OMG!! Eurozone debt problems can only be properly solved by true fiscal union!!! #comeonguys’ and ‘Large scale quantitative easing in 2012 could distort liquidity of govt. bond market. #justsayin’.

It was originally thought that her account had been hacked until ‘You’re not you when you’re hungry @snickersuk #hungry #spon’ was tweeted, along with a picture of Katie Price pointing to a Snickers bar.
