To celebrate its centenary year, McCann Birmingham has created an exclusive montage of what it believes to be some of the finest work produced by McCann Worldwide over the last 100 years for The Drum.

The montage has been compiled to showcase its favourite press adverts, created since Harry McCann first opened H K McCann Company on 13 January 1912 with a network of offices eventually operating across North America, France and England.

In 1930 he was joined by Alfred Erickson leading to the current moniker.

Dean Lovett, CEO for McCann Birmingham, commented: “At McCann we truly believe that you need to know where you’ve come from to know where you’re going.

“In 1915, Harry McCann wrote; ‘When truth is well told it is energetic, convincing...its final aim is to make sales – not simply to increase knowledge or encourage literary appreciation.’ That is as relevant today as it was then.

“It is for this reason that we have republished Harry’s groundbreaking manifesto for everyone in the Agency to read, and put him front and central of our Birmingham office, so his image greets our employees every day. We want them to be inspired by our first century, to take us into an even better second.”

The montage includes work for Pilsbury, Coca-Cola, Del Monte and Ritz.
