The BBC has announced that it will not remove nude scenes from the first episode of season two of Sherlock when it is repeated at 7pm on BBC3, despite 102 complaints about the original airing.

The Daily Mail wrote an article yesterday complaining about the scene in A Scandal in Belgravia, which featured the character of Irene Adler as a dominatrix. Due to careful camera work, viewers do not see Lara Pulver, who plays Adler, completely naked.

A spokesperson for the BBC said that due to the holiday weekend, it is not known whether the complaints were received before or after the Daily Mail article was posted – with a spokesperson saying in the Daily Mail article that no complaints had been received at that point.

The episode, which aired on New Year’s Day, was watched by an average audience of 8.75million.
