BT sues Google in US claiming Android patents breach

British Telecom is set to sue Google, claiming that its mobile operating system Android infringes several key patents.

The US lawsuit filed by BT relate to Google Maps, Google Music, Android Market and its GPS advertising service, which could be extended to Europe, according to The Guardian.

BT claims that the Android services infringe patents filed in the 90’s.

Android is currently the most popular smartphone platform, with over 40% of international sales.
