WPP owned VML has taken a majority stake in Singapore based digital marketing agency Quais Consulting.

VML’s majority share acquisition of Qais Consulting will see it operate as part of Y&R Asia.

Qais Consulting was founded in 2005, with presences in Singapore, Mumbai and India offering digital and marketing services, as well as user experience, technology development, research, analytics, mobile and channel management, as well as social media, search marketing, online advertising and media management.

The company currently employs 31 people and works with clients such as Singapore Ministry of Defence, Hilton Hotels, Sony Electronics, Standard Chartered Bank and Tata Motors.

Its revenues for the year ended 31 December 2010 were S$4 million alongside gross assets of S$1.6 million.

This is the third majority stakeholding that WPP has taken in Asian based companies this week, having also invested in XPR and Mind Resource.
