It has been revealed that some on-air reporters at Channel 5 will be expected to edit their own footage as part of the changes in output, with some members of staff being made redundant.

The Guardian has said that 16 members of staff have been made redundant as part of the cutbacks announced since ITN won back the contract to produce Channel 5 News, with lower budget cameras expected to be another change.

ITN has said that most of the redundant staff would be replaced in different roles, adding that the majority of 5 News staff will be transferring to ITN and that it is in consultation with the workforce as it reconfigures roles on the service.
