For the second time in 18 months design magazine Grafik has announced that it is closing.

Its French publisher Design Flux today confirmed that it had "discontinued" the magazine less than a year after taking over its publishing and distribution.

Grafik was relaunched under Design Flux in February. Before that it had gone unpublished for eight months after its previous publisher, Adventures in Publishing, went into administration in June 2010.

But less than a year after Grafik's revival, co-editors Caroline Roberts and Angharad Lewis today said Design Flux had taken the decision to close the magazine.

Writing on their website Woodbridge & Lewis, they said: "The editorial team of Grafik is sad to announce that Grafik magazine is to stop being published. For the last year we have been creating the editorial for Grafik, working with publisher Design Flux, which prints and distributes the magazine. However, Design Flux has made the decision to cease publication of Grafik after the current issue, G193.

"The Grafik editorial team will be taking a short break, but keep your eyes peeled for more from us all in the New Year. We’ll be back with something new and exciting in 2012. Meanwhile, we would like to say a massive thank you to all our readers, subscribers and contributors over the years. We have had an amazing ride with Grafik over the last decade and look forward to new adventures next year…"

Issue number 193, published on 11 November, will go down as the magazine's final edition unless it is revived again.
