Newsquest Herald & Evening Times Group has announced the appointment of Tessa Hartmann, founder of the Scottish Fashion Awards and managing director of Hartmann Media, as its fashion editor-at-large.

Hartmann, who has built up a heady reputation in Scotland with her experience working as a fashion publicist and brand consultant over the last 15 years, will take up the role from the beginning of next year, an external post that it is understood will see her committed to produce a major feature each month.

“I believe there is so much content out there in the huge industry that is fashion, and hopefully I can bring some innovative content to the mix,” Hartmann told The Drum.

Hartmann already has a working relationship with the publisher, which has been a partner of the fashion awards for several years

Jonathan Russell, editor-in-chief at The Herald & Times Group, added: “We are delighted to have a closer working relationship with Tessa whose hard work in promoting Scotland’s outstanding contribution to the fashion industry has a significant effect. In creating and developing the Scottish Fashion Awards she has helped shine the spotlight on the many creative individuals to help our country punch above its weight in this area.”

Russell added; “The Herald and Times Group is proud of its innovative fashion coverage and I am sure that Tessa’s contribution will help us develop that further.”

Hartmann takes up the post from 1 January.
