OK! Magazine app redeveloped by Shout to include real-time Celebspotter system

The service utilises the camera feature on the iphone, allowing pictures to be sent directly to OK! The app has also been integrated with the Twitter feed and links to news articles from the magazine’s website.

Gary Boon, managing director of Shout! explained: “With the amount of times a celebrity changes their look or hair style, pictures and images become out of date very quickly – with a real time admin system, the content can constantly be updated with the latest images or information about celebrities and where they regularly visit as well as giving information on the venues mentioned.”

Farzad Jamal, group internet controller of Express Newspapers and OK! Magazine, said: “The versatility of the new app is a great way for people to use their current location across the UK to find out which bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants nearby celebs have previously been spotted in, so they can hang out at their ‘regular’ haunts.”

Shout Digital technical director Phil Harvey, added;“Not only have we added the real time system, but we have changed and updated the visual look and feel of the application integrating with analytics to track how often people are using the app and the demographics which will feed into OK!’s marketing and help target the advertising within the app.
