Ratings flops Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley have been axed from ITV’s flagship breakfast show, Daybreak.

The pair were told they were no longer required to keep the sofa warm on the early morning show after viewers switched off in their droves.

Just 700,000 are now regularly tuning into the show, less than its GMTV predecessor, pushing ITV into ditching the pair who will now disappear from our screens within weeks.

A New Year revamp of the show is now planned for the New Year with fresh presenters and producers brought on board in a bid to reengage with audiences.

Bleakley and Chiles were poached by ITV from BBC Breakfast back in September for £15m.
