Egmont releases £1m digital campaign to promote BZRK release in 2012

A £1m digital marketing campaign has been released by publisher Egmont to promote BZRK, a new book from Michael Grant.

The digital campaign includes an alternative reality game, an iOS and Android game app, with the storyline being told across various online platforms, including social networks.

The book, BZRK: Book One, will be released next February, with the campaign, developed by The Shadow Gang, aiming to engage with fans in advance.

Mike Richards, head of marketing and publicity for Egmont Press said: “BZRK’s launch is breaking the boundaries of what book publishers can achieve in a pre-launch campaign. The various layers of our digital marketing add a lot to the overall experience that our readers will have. We hope to be able to implement this type of innovative strategy again in the future with other authors and books in our portfolio.”
