HMS Belfast airbrushed out of London 2012 campaign poster
The HMS Belfast has been airbrushed out of the London 2012 campaign poster following a ‘simple mistake’.
Organisers have explained that the mistake, which has angered some veterans in the lead up to Remembrance Day, happened after a third party advertising agency was hired to produce the posters, with the ship being removed from the landscape version because it was underneath some text and made it difficult to read.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games has said that the posters have been removed, and will be replaced with redesigned versions.
