YouTube and Disney form partnership
Disney’s interactive arm has today announced that it has formed a partnership with YouTube in order to bring more family-geared videos to the web.
Through the partnership, co-branded videos produced by Disney will appear on both its Disney.com website and YouTube early next year.
Jimmy Pitaro, co-president of Disney Interactive, said: “As we prepare to re-launch Disney.com in fall 2012, the Disney/YouTube destination will play a critical part in our next generation platform.”
The partnership follows a recent announcement by YouTube that it aims to increase original content, with plans to introduce channels with other media partners, including Thomson Reuters Corp.
