Biscuit brand Fox's has unveiled a social media geo-location game to promote the launch of its new Christmas puddings.

The Great Christmas Pudding Heist will see brand mascot Vinnie the panda tell his Facebook fans that he is using Fox's Christmas Puddings to smuggle valuables.

But before too long his stash will be stolen and it will be up to the brand's fans to help him find the perpetrators to win cash prizes.

Created by Finn PR, the game will use Twitter and geo-location services to allow players to uncover clues and track the heist online.

‘Real life’ bandits will also take to UK streets wearing tracking devices, giving players another chance to win by following them with their ‘stolen’ items.

Wayne Greensmith, marketing manager at Fox's Christmas Puddings, said: "Vinnie is a powerful brand icon and his Facebook fan page has a highly engaged audience, so it makes sense to involve them in the launch of the new product.

"The Great Christmas Pudding Heist is a clever idea blending off and online, which will give fans an immersive, layered level of involvement, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it plays out.”

Digital agency 20:20, which manages Vinnie's Facebook page, will also be involved in the campaign. It gets underway today.
