Manchester United Soccer Schools has appointed two regional agencies to carry out a mystery web project.

Digital agency Livelink and brand and design consultancy Home have been appointed to the task, although they are keeping quiet about the nature of the brief for now.

All they have revealed is that this will be a "global online project" that will involve social web and video technology. It will launch in December.

In other news Manchester United is understood to be launching its own branded social network.

Marketing reports that the club is building the network to better target its international base of an estimated 350m supporters.
