A charity is highlighting the issue of fuel poverty with a social media campaign that encourages people to tweet the amount they pay for gas and electricity as a percentage of their household income.

These rates are then automatically plotted on an interactive map to illustrate the variation across the UK.

The map is the brainchild of Turn2us, which part of the national charity Elizabeth Finn Care.

Turn2us director Alison Taylor said: "Through this campaign, we want to highlight the worrying spread of fuel poverty across the country and ensure people are aware of the support available to them."
