Former Skillset northern co-ordinator Jessy Gill has been appointed as the first ever business development manager at growing north west marketing agency Carpe Diem

At Skillset Gill worked closely with the creative industries in the north, particularly on the BBC’s move North to Media City in Salford. Prior to that Gill worked in account management roles in the creative industries.

Gill’s appointment follows a successful period in MiNetwork member agency Carpe Diem’s 12-year history. New contracts from clients including Dr Oetker, The Ombudsman Services and ASICS UK and ASICS Europe have strengthened the MiNetwork member agencies portfolio of global brands. Gill’s remit is to ensure they continue to excel whilst working on these campaigns and new opportunities.

The agency also works with New Balance, The University of Hull and Warrington Borough Council.

“2011 is proving to be a defining year for the agency,” says Carpe Diem managing director Bill Carr. “We have secured work with major international brands in the UK and across Europe. A big part of our success has come from our ability to identify opportunities for our clients through digital channels and capitalise on them through creative solutions.

“Jessy has been appointed to work closely with me to enhance that process. Her network of contacts, knowledge of the digital landscape and passion for the industry all assist in providing both a personal service and dedicated working relationship to our clients. She is the perfect addition to the Carpe Diem team as we enter a new period of growth.”

Gill added: “I joined Carpe Diem because their in-house talent, mix of clients, ability to grow and passion for creativity showed me that I will have both a challenging but equally rewarding role here.”
