A content deal has been agreed between LOVEFiLM and Paramount Pictures offering members exclusive streaming access to the movie studio’s titles.

The content deal is the latest agreed by LOVEFiLM in recent weeks, including deals with Entertainment One UK and STUDIOCANAL in the UK.

LOVEFiLM subscribers in Germand will be given access to Paramount’s upcoming titles, including The Coen Brothers western True Grit and J.J Abraham’s science fiction thriller Super 8 ahead of any other pay TV provider through the LOVEFiLM Player.

Simon Calver, chief executive of LOVEFiLM, said: “We are thrilled to announce this deal for exclusive subscription on-demand rights with Paramount and be able to offer their impressive range of films before any other pay TV provider. This agreement adds to the ever-growing, quality content that LOVEFiLM members are able to watch instantly, anytime they want.”

Hal Richardson, president of Paramount Home Media Distribution, added: “We are extremely pleased to have concluded this ground-breaking deal with LOVEFiLM for the 1st subscription television window in Germany, offering some of Paramount’s best films to their rapidly growing base of German subscribers.”
