Glasgow consortium set to launch new Scottish digital television channel

Scotland could have a new digital television channel by next year, according to a report in The Herald today.

The broadsheet claims that the new channel will go ahead should the plans of a group of artists be realised, with Bad Pony Media in the process of develop 30 shows for the channel.

“The channel, which will have internet and mobile phone ‘app’ interaction with the audience, could be the first commercial channel to launch in Scotland since STV," says the paper.

Bad Pony TV will be free-to-view and will not be funded by incorporating advertisers’ products.

The initial two productions will be drama series Ninety Eight Percent, and make-over show, All Dolled Up with a beta test due to take place in January.
