Socialbakers has revealed that on average, companies respond to 5% of Facebook wall posts, with telecom companies having the highest response rate.

The research, released today on an Econsultancy blog by Socialbakers CEO Jan Rezab, found that automobile, electronics, media and FMCG sectors all had a response rate of less than 5%.

Airlines, alcohol, retail, retail food and fashion all had a response rate of between 5% and 20%, while telecoms had about 26% response rate.

Rezab said: “This chart clearly shows the sectors that get it a little more. Obviously some of these categories don't need to have any major response rate, FMCG for example.

“But all the Telecom, Services, Airlines and others should have a response rate between 65 and 75% to all user questions.”

The release of this information follows the news last week that 71% of US companies ignore consumer complaints on Twitter.
