Apple is looking to bring Britain’s caffeine lovers onside with an initiative to give all customers of Starbucks in the UK access to a free weekly iTunes download.

Termed ‘Pick of the Week’ the offer coincides with an announcement last week that the coffee chain has made free WiFi available in all its stores.

Anyone purchasing a drink or snack from the café will be handed a download card with which to redeem their weekly prize.

The first song to be made available under the deal is James Morrison’s latest effort, ‘My Dreams’ which will be bundled alongside an iBook – Limitless by Alan Glyn.

Future participating artists include the Kooks, Coldplay and Tony Bennett.

Brian Waring, vice president of marketing and category for Starbucks UK and Ireland, said: “Digital offers are very important to us and making WiFi freely available across our stores is the foundation for many other plans we have moving forward…Content partnerships are key and we also have an extremely exciting digital programme ahead for 2012.”
