Wham bars are to be saved, after Tangerine Confectionery, the makers of Refreshers, bought the sweet brand over.

The company, which also makes Barratt Fruit Salads, Black Jacks, Sherbet Fountains and Dip Dabs, saved the chewy bar from being scrapped.

Tangerine's chairman Steven Joesph told The Times: “People love Wham bars and they'll continue to do so. We're very pleased to have done the deal as it increased our branded presence.”
