Palmer Hargreaves has been appointed to the Mercedes-Benz Commercial account for dealer marketing materials after a four-way pitch.

The German motor giant sought a new agency partner after making the decision to consolidate commercial vehicle activity to one primary agency.

The win means Palmer Hargreaves will now look after vans and sales business alongside its existing work on Mercedes-Benz trucks and Fuso Canter.

The Leamington Spa agency will be responsible for a wide range of activities including brand development, vehicle launches and the introduction of field-based regional marketing managers.

Nikki Watts, managing director at Palmer Hargreaves, said: "In a difficult economic climate, a strategically focussed approach to communications in complex channel environments is critical to success.

"We are absolutely delighted to be working with Mercedes-Benz in this wider remit and look forward to building a successful partnership."
