Schwarzkopf owner, Henkel has appointed its media account in Australia and New Zealand to MEC.

The account will move following a pitch that included incumbent OMD, which has worked on it for the last decade.

The contract will begin on 1 December, with Schwarzkopf spending $6.4m in Australia over the last year alone, according to Nielsen.

Peter Vogel, chief executive officer of MEC, said: “The pitch was a very detailed and rigorous process. It included two strategic case studies and a detailed media buying exercise. The win is an endorsement of MEC’s strength and capabilities in FMCG. We look forward to working closely with Schwarzkopf to drive their business growth in the Australian market.” MEC also won the account in New Zealand.”
