Gapwork, the gap year jobs and volunteering website, has been rebuilt and redesigned by Leeds digital agency Chapter Eight.

The new website was put together in just 10 weeks and aims to help young adults find useful ways to spend their time abroad without having to visit a travel agent.

It includes information on visas, insurance, top destinations, jobs abroad and accommodation. Chapter Eight said it had been "designed from the ground up to be highly search engine optimised".

Explaining the new features, Gapwork's Gillian Thompson said: "Young adults looking to go on their gap year can connect with Gapwork through Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for daily news and job alerts.

"Advertisers have improved company profile pages, giving each advertiser the chance to add video and rich content to their dedicated page.”
